Finally Finished

I'm finally finished with the HCG diet!!!!! Hooray!!!!! I actually had to stop a little earlier, day 34, due to being on edge a little to much. (My husband couldn't take the mood swings) I don't know if it was the hormone or not, but after taking my last shot last Saturday and then letting the HCG run out of my body I found that I wasn't on edge like I was and I was feeling much better. I don't want to worry anyone because everyone reacts differently to hormone, but towards the end of the diet I just became really on edge and knew I needed to get off of it. In all honesty if I ever have to do this again I would only do a 20 day cycle, do to how I felt at the end of the 40 day cycle.

The great news of being on the diet for 34 days is I lost 23lbs total and feel like a new woman. My new body is a birthday present to myself and I love it. I feel so much lighter now when I run, imagine that. With hormones raging (towards the end), no sugar(except on a rare occasion), and none of my favorite carbs, it was totally worth it. Now that I'm completely off the diet and doing the maintenance part, I can already see that my metabolism is running smoother. I will post before and after pictures hopefully this weekend, I need my husband home to take a picture, so you can see for yourself the success I have had. Thank you everyone who followed me during my adventure and supported me, it was long and at times hard, but with your support and the support of family and friends I pulled through and was successful. Thanks again everyone!!!!!

Day 30 but actually only Day 26

Since I haven't blogged in a while it looks like I've fallen off the wagon, but I can say for sure that I have not and I'm still going strong. Truthfully... with being crazy busy and going out of town, the last two weeks have been difficult ( DO NOT GO ANY WHERE while doing the HCG diet) I'm not where I had planned on being but I'm 9lbs away from my goal weight.

My title of this blog says I should be on day 30, however starting tomorrow I will only be on day 26 do to my monthly cycle. Yes..... I know that sounds weird but when your on your cycle your not suppose to take any injections until your done then you can continue with your your 40 day injection cycle. I was slightly nervous that I would be ravenous hungry and eat everything in sight, but I've stuck to my 500 calorie diet and haven't felt starved.

This whole cycle has been long and hard at times (especially on birthdays and at family events), but I'm so proud of my results. I look forward to the end of this when I will post my before and after pictures and also celebrating my 35Th birthday this month with my new body.

I have to do a shout out to my husband who just finished a 23 day cycle and lost 19lbs. Hubba, hubba..... you look awesome honey!!!!!!

Day 20

Hurray! I'm half way through. Hurray not so much for this past weekend. I gave into my cravings this past Saturday and gained a few pounds (3), which is to be expected when you cheat like I did. I'm back to being down 18 pounds but if I hadn't cheated I would be down even more, so to me that's the only downfall. I am happy with my progress and I hope I am as successful in my next 20 days as I was in my first 20.

13-16 Days

Since I haven't blogged in a couple of days your probably wondering if I've quit or had a breakdown and I'm extremely happy to say that I haven't. This week hasn't been easy since our scale whacked out and was coming up with weird fluctuations.... I was a little freaked. Now were back on track with a new scale and moving forward. It's day sixteen and since I've started I've lost 11.5 lbs..... yippee! I'm not losing my weight as quickly but it still coming off faster then it would if I was doing something else. I am happier to say since I've started this and did a cleanse right before I've lost a total of 16.5 lbs.....My clothes are starting to fall off and I'm going down to the next size..... how exciting is that?

Next week I will post all the websites you will need to get started and helpful, tasty recipes that give this diet a lot of flavor.

Day 11 & 12

I have to say this weekend was a little rough.... Between the two days I only lost 1 lb. However it's still a pound and I'm still pushing forward. I have found the longer I've been doing this that I'm not losing the weight as fast.... it may only be a 1/2 lb each day, however since I'm a girl it said this would happen and I know by the end of this that even with losing only a 1/2 lb a day I will still have lost more then 20lbs.

Day 9 and 10

It's now been a WHOLE week since I started the 500 calorie phase and believe it or not this week has gone by much faster then I thought It would. In one week I lost 8.5lbs, when has that ever happen? I think never. I don't even think I would lose this much if I was starving myself and so this makes me a very HAPPY person. I did hit a plateau between day 8 and 9 and so I did the 6 apples a day yesterday to reboot the weight loss (It's not as bad as it sounds. I was able to go to a get together last night and be happy with just eating my apple). Dr. Simeons said this would happen, but I really didn't expect it to happen in my first week, but it did pay off because I'm back on track and lost 2.5lbs during the process.

I'm only a quarter the way through my 40 day cycle and I really can't say enough GREAT things about the hcg diet. I don't feel any hunger pains but I have had a few cravings (I didn't give in), the shots really don't hurt, and the results to me are phenomenal. So here's my shout out to all of those people that are having a hard time losing weight: The hcg diet works and I know this because I'm one of those people. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them.

7th and 8th Day

Since I have started my 500 calorie phase I have lost a total of 7lbs and it hasn't even been a week...... I can't even express how ECSTATIC I am! It's been a couple of years since I've been able to lose this much. My pants are feeling loser, shirts are fitting better and the mushroom top is reducing. (hallelujah) Since I have already lost 7lbs I am really looking forward to the end results of the 40 days.

6th Day

In all honesty there has been two things I've been struggling with and that is a few headaches and fatigue..... the funny thing is the reason I feel this way is because I didn't eat enough fatty food on my first two days of injections. (The book states that if you don't eat enough fatty food there is a possibility you'd feel like this and would subside after 4 or 5 days) I guess thinking that I had enough fat storage it really wouldn't matter, but it really does.

This morning I lost a half a pound, a little disappointed, but it's still progress and the book said this would happen. It says one day you could lose 3 pounds and another day you may lose nothing at all, but you should never be gaining weight. So I will take that half a pound.

Today I thought I would share a day in the life of the HCG Diet:

- First thing in the morning I weigh myself and give myself an injection

- Breakfast: Water and green tea with stivia (Your suppose to drink at least 2 liters of liquid a day)

- Lunch: I usually warm up some prepared chicken that I had already previously cooked and put it with one of the veggies I'm able to have such as cucumber, asparagus, lettuce, and tomatoes. Theres only 13 veggies to choose from and a handful that I like.... I do worry that my diet could get boring so I look on the internet for hcg recipes.

- Snack: Either a piece of fruit (Apple, Orange, 1/2 a grapefruit or a handful of strawberries) or Melba toast or both. (I have found I like the crunch of the Melba toast)

- Dinner: Tonight I'm fixing lobster tail with garlic and sea salt with a splash of lemon and Asparagus. Even though Jeff and I are on the diet the kids eat the same food as we do, however I will add some sort of carb for them.

-Late Night Snack: The late night snack is the same as the mid afternoon snack.

It's really not bad as you can see... however I have done the Isagenix cleanes a couple of times and theres a few days you only get liquid so I'm thinking since I get to eat everyday with the HCG diet it's great.

5th Day

I said I would post a clip of the shots, however for some reason I received an error several times and it rejected my video. So for now the shot video will have to wait.

As of this morning I have lost another 2 lbs so now I've lost a total of 5 lbs. It's crazy..... I've lost 5lbs in 2 days and I'm feeling better, I'm completely motivated and I am soooooo happy this works. I know I'm going to lose the weight I've been trying to lose the last 2 years and hopefully banish it from my body forever.

4th Day's a Charm

This mornings weigh in was very exciting, I lost 3lbs (woo hoo) after my first day of the 500 calories a day phase. This is good news because it was like pulling teeth just trying to lose 1lb in a week and now I've lost 3lbs in one day. Awesome!!!!! Seeing the scale go down keeps me motivated and wanting to do what I need to do to be successful. All the pre-preparing I know has helped greatly...... I bought everything the diet told me I would need a couple of days before and weighed, marinated, and cooked a whole bunch of chicken, I weighed my lean beef and put it in individual baggies so all I would have to do is grab and cook, and made sure I have all of my favorite veggies and fruit on hand that I'm allowed to have. Even though it's only my 4Th day I know the preparation is paying off and making this really easy. I too am still not feeling hungry, I eat because I have to, and even though I love sugar I really haven't had any cravings and that's with a pan of brownies sitting on my counter..... Kudos to me! I know I still have a long ways to go, but I'm feeling good and focused. Tomorrow I will video my shot so you can see first hand of how not scary it really is.

Day 3

Ok...... so today was my first day of the 500 calorie diet part and once again the HCG is doing it's job because I'm not feeling hungry, however the energy levels slightly low and walking through the mall for 3 hours didn't help. Yes..... walking through a mall made me tired, but when your on such a restrictive diet your bound to be a little tired and the manual says your really not suppose to do any sort of working out. I'm going to feel like such a wimp after being done with this because I'm soooo used to doing some sort of cardio a couple times a week. Anyhow drinking green tea and taking special green tea pills have definitely helped with the fatigue and I have 3 days under my belt and 37 more to go.

Day 1 and 2

Yesterday I started the hcg injections.( I inject 150 i.u.'s daily) I know.... injections is a scary word. The thought of having to give myself a shot was terrifying, but I was quickly reduced to feeling like a pansy because once I finally did the injection it didn't hurt at all. All the pre anxiety was for nothing. I will say that I am only using a insulin syringe that is a 31 gauge.( From the many I talked to they said this one was the less painful and they were soooooooo right)

The first 2 days of the diet are pretty easy(I am following Dr. A.T.W Simeons Plan)...... you get to eat whatever you want, especially things high in fat, while you build a little fat storage. (Like I needed to) However the hcg serum makes you not have much of an appetite so I have found it harder to eat those fatty foods. I guess the HCG is doing it's job because your not suppose to feel hungary and I am definately not..... so when I start my strict 500 calorie diet tomorrow it won't be as hard as I thought it was going to be and I'm actually looking forward to it. So I will let you know how I feel after my 3rd of injections and my first day of strict dieting.

It's Only Just Begun

After much thought, research and watching friends accomplish great results I decided I wanted to do the HCG diet. I'm not huge, I just wanted to lose 20 plus pounds. After turning 30 a couple of years ago I all of a sudden found it very difficult to lose weight, it didn't matter if I trained for two marathons and do two triathlon sprints I still was gaining, not losing as you would think. So what broke the camels back was a little over a year ago I got pregnant with my third child and miscarried after being almost 5 months along, it was an emotional time but I pulled through, however my body took a hit and for some reason wanted to hold onto the baby fat. So here I am today, I've lost a little with cleansing and exercise but not as quickly as I would have liked. I have to admit I am not a patient person, if I'm working out and eating right I expect results and as of lately the result are lacking. This is why I've decided to do the HCG diet.

I have say up front that I'm not doing the HCG the conventional way as a lot of people have done. I'm not paying $400- $1300 for the program the doctors have to offer, I found a cheaper way through web research and friends. If you want to learn more about the diet and do your own research go to http://www.hcgdietinfo.com/HCG_Diet_Dr_Simeons_Manuscript.htm . I found this website to be very informative and they really cover everything you need to know and where to purchase everything you need for the diet. I also feel I need to explain why I decided to by pass the doctors and do it on my own and that is because I am relatively healthy person and felt I didn't need to consult with a doctor, but that may not be for everyone. With saying that I guess you could say that is a disclaimer and with going forward I am only sharing my experience, thoughts and results.

Your probably wondering why I'm sharing my experience...... and the answer is since I'm not going to a doctor and being held accountable by him I felt I wanted to be accountable in some way so that's why I decide to blog. This will make me accountable to you, my faithful readers and I feel with writing about my experience I will be much more successful then doing this all by my lonesome. I am doing a 40 series (please refer to the website) so let the party begin.
